I’ve been bit by the Crafty Bug…

So, I’ve had a few days at home and although I’ve been sick, I have taken the opportunity to get some things done and some of those things have turned quite crafty. :)

With Haylee and Wade sharing a room, the idea of finding curtains to match both of their bedding was challenging indeed. I recently found these green gingham valances at Lowes and then decided to try to add some of the other colors to the curtains to tie everything together.

Definitely easier said than done. I ended up using some blue gingham ribbon and used fabric tape (yes, tape… I do not sew, you know!) to attach a smaller red ribbon to the middle of that ribbon. Then all I had to do was cut slits in the curtain and weave the ribbon through.

Wala! Here is what you get…

I think I’m pleased enough with the result. It took me buying a few yards of different ribbons before I settled on this one, but I can always use the rejected ribbon for my scrapbooking. :) Speaking of which, I’ve been doing some of that this week too. I’ve gotten several pages done and I know that once the baby comes there won’t be much time for dragging all the scrapping stuff out. I hope to get as much done as I can. I have ordered more pictures to be printed, but am actually almost done with all the pics I have currently printed. Shock!

I also worked on this project which was fun as well. I took these three pics that B took in November and put them in a collage frame. It’s really supposed to be for 4×6 pictures and I wasn’t really thrilled with how the 5×7’s looked, so I decided to try to embellish them a bit with some scrapping flair… What do you think? Anything looks good when you have the right model showing it off, right?

I love the valance! I think the ribbon really finished it off nicely. And the collage frame looks so nice. Every time I see a new pic of Haylee that you post I am in amazement of how much older she looks. -They grow up too fast! :) Glad you’re getting some scrapbooking in before Wade gets here! I desperately tried to get caught up before Lil’ came, but was unsuccessful and now I’m W-A-Y behind! Ugh. LOL.

    Praying for a speedy recovery…

I love the curtains and I love Haylee’s huge smile in the pic. There is no doubt about it, you are creative and crafty and you don’t give yourself enough credit…! =)
