39 Weeks…and a Retarded Cervix!

I am now 39 weeks… Only one week to go to my due date… This picture was yesterday taken by my “talented” four year old live in photographer. She loved the opportunity to snap some shots, but out of 6 poses, this was the best choice. :) At least it is a record of the Belly Size for memory’s sake.
I went to the doctor Wednesday and found out that my lovely cervix is LESS favorable this week than it was last week! I’m not sure how that’s possible, and Dr. Peach seeemed a bit baffled by it as well. It really figures that I would end up with the retarded cervix that decides to go BACKWARDS! It’s like the baby is saying, “No! I’m not ready to come out yet!” Or, it could be that Wade caught wind of the plan to stick him with a Leap Year birthday, and he decided to put a stop to it!
So, needless to say, the Induction scheduled for today was postponed because of my unfavorable cervix. Dr. Peach’s next time on call at the hospital is thankfully Monday, March 3rd. Sooooo…. unless Wade makes his appearance on his own before then, we will be at the hospital bright and early Monday morning to get this show on the road! :)
I am glad that unless something happens quickly, I am going to have a March baby. I can’t really explain why, but for some reason, a March birthday just seems better or “more right” than a February birthday. I know it doesn’t make sense, but then again, pregnancy hormones running wild can justify just about anything, can’t they?

Hey, pregnant women don’t have to explain anything… that’s a rule! You want a March baby and that’s that. :-)

I loved the description of Lil’ Wade holding out past Leap Day… I just got this comic-strip picture in my head of him pulling a drawstring shut on you!!!

You’re still in our prayers… Hang in there!

You’re not crazy about the month thing. I was always telling MAC when we were trying for Matthew that if we didn’t get pregnant that first month (December) we’d have to stop trying for a month or two because I didn’t want a baby born in August or October…just didn’t like the sounds of those months! LOL Glad it worked out for you that he was born in March, though….it’s a great month with many famous and wonderful people, such as myself :-)
