Year in Review… Top Ten of 2012!

One of the biggest moments here on the blog was all the way back in January when out of the blue my blogger blog got deleted.  It ended up coming back within a few hours, but that was enough for me to finally decide to switch to WordPress. I lost lots of subscribers initially, but it was definitely the right choice…. painful though it was.

Here are my Top Ten Most Popular Posts of 2012 {based on page views}…

#10 is my Weekly Meal Prep Tips straight from me to you!

weekly meal prep tips 2

I don’t cook for fun.  The fun part for me comes into play when it’s time to chow down….

#9 is more School Stuff with my low down and free printables all about Classroom Management.  We do it up big time with tickets, stickers, igrams, and hw passes galore!

Classroom Currency

Reward Stinker Sammy’s behavior with LOTS of attention and focus and you’ve taught the little stinker that the best way to get your attention is through driving you batty

#8 is my Tips on Organizing at School with Subject Folders. I absolutely love this system and how well it works for me!

Organizing with Subject Labels

I call it uber-organized. You may call it a sickness.  :) I  like my Answer Keys kept by subject in individual folders.  It works so much better for me than filing them in with my other masters in the huge binder OR in the filing cabinet with the student copies

#7 is the Easy and Fab Birthday Bunting Tutorial. It is possible to have a unique and impressive birthday banner of your very own. I promise.

supplies

Pinterest inspired great things of me this year for Wade’s birthday, not the least of which was the amazing Happy Birthday Banner.  It was pretty easy to make

#6 is some super fun tips on How to Save Money on Vacation Food. We l-o-v-e to travel and I loved sharing my tips on how to save time and headache on vacation food. :)

saving money on vacation food

I love to travel.  love it. Thankfully the hubs loves it too, and for most of our marriage he has been blessed to work for companies who give several weeks of vacation time to enable this super fun hobby of ours

#5 is the super cool Multiplication Memory Chart! I love this and my kids have too! I am so thrilled that this system has actually worked this year! My kiddos loved earning igrams for each table they completed!

Multiplication Free Printable

As an upper elementary teacher, I’m not the one who teaches the initial skill of multiplication, but I am the one that struggles to teach the harder math problems to kids… some of which just don’t know their multiplication facts...

#4 is my final Weight loss Recap… celebrating losing TWENTY POUNDS! I actually got up to 25 lbs lost, but I have crept back up and am still hovering around the 20 lb mark. My lunch schedule certainly does not help since I eat lunch at 10:45 am, so I am STARVED by the afternoon and chomp, chomp, chomp away on whatever I can get my hands on.

#3 is the Blogger Tutorial on creating a custom Menu Navigation Bar pre-Wordpress move! It really isn’t all that hard.

beautifyyourblog menu bar

The Menu Bar is called lots of different things actually. Maybe you’ve heard it called a Nav {Navigation} Bar?  Basically, in blogger it’s where you’ve set up your “Pages” to be. Problem is… with blogger you can only set up Pages as links within your blog

#2  is my Lesson Plan Template Free Download. I’m still using this every week and loving it! And what’s cool is that a few other teachers at school are using it too!

Editable Free Lesson Plan Template

Aren’t lesson plans like the funnest part of teaching??  Oh… uh, no? One crazy thing about teaching the same grade and subjects multiple years is the fact that you end up hand writing much of the SAME THINGS year after year

#1 And drumroll please… ironically my most popular post by far this year was posted the DAY my blog was deleted by google! If you guessed Crockpot Ranch Pork Chops, then you are right!  For some reason, this post just went absolutely nutso on Pinterest! It really is a super easy dish that is yum, yum, yum! If you haven’t tried it then you simply MUST!
