What I’m taking to Haven!

Haven is ALMOST HERE, peeps!! I’m leaving in just FIVE days for the big, bad HOT-LANTA for the amazing and wonderful HAVEN CONFERENCE! I still can’t believe I am going to a real blog conference with a room full of 250 other people who actually GET this whole “blogging thing.”

Going to my first Blog Conference is partly terrifying, so I’m thankful that I’ll be going with my {real life} friend Christina who lives in the Atlanta area. She actually offered up her guest room for me, so I’ll be staying with her for the duration.  :)

Just for fun I want to share what cool things I’m taking with me!  Who knows if these will be useful items or not since this is my first time round this rodeo, but after reading several informative posts {mostly centered around Blissdom}… here’s what I decided should make the cut.

#1

One of my old but favorite totes from Gap to stash all my stuff in!  It will be my one-stop-shop for everything I’m going to lug with me through the day.

#2…

My {new, courtesy of school} Macbook and Sleeve.  I’ll be using this to maybe take notes or whatevs.  This case is a pretty good deal on Amazon, by the way.

#3…

I’m definitely taking my camera as well a few other accessories… like my cutie-pie Camera strap

#4…

And this new Camera Cover I just found on ebay.  It’s basically just a very small sleeve/pouch type thing just for your actual camera body.  There’s not even room for the strap, which is pretty cool since you can still carry it by the strap, but the body of the camera is protected.  :)

{image source}

I wanted to get this since I usually don’t take my big camera bag anywhere because I don’t like having another bag to carry. {My purse and the diaper bag are enough for me!} This gives it some padding and protection while it’s stowed in my purse or tote!

#5…

Of course, I am taking my appendage, er, I mean, my Phone for quick checking in on fb/twitter and for keeping in touch with my loves at home.  :)

#6…

My Business Cards will be readily available to push on everyone, hee hee!

#7…

I’ll be stowing them in this little Wristlet.  I decided to use this one since it has a front pocket where I can easily slide the cards I’m RECEIVING during the Biz Card Shuffle.   It’s extra convenient too since I can clip the strap onto my tote handle to avoid fumbling around to grab the cards when it’s time to thrust them on everyone I see.  :)

#8...

Instead of lugging my purse along with my tote, I’ll be putting just the absolute essentials in this small Purse Clutch.  The clutch will “live” in the tote…ready in case I need it… but I won’t have all the extra weight of carrying my big purse.  :)

#9…

Among other things, inside my Purse Clutch will be some mints and candy, pens, mini hairspray, hand sanitizer, and, of course, Excedrin in case WHEN I get a headache.

#10…

I’ll have my computer and my phone, but I’ll also be bringing this small Notebook for quick jotting down of whatever extremely life altering thing demands immediate jotting.  :)

#11…

Because of my headache propensity, I’ll also be stashing some Snacks {probably snack bags of pretzels & granola bars} as well as my Water Bottle & Mio Drops for on-demand sustenance.

#12…

Lastly, I’ve heard lots about conference rooms being COLD, so I’m also making sure I have a Cardigan handy to keep me from shivering!

What did I miss?  Anything else I should make sure to bring??? I would love any conference tips and shout outs from any other Haven newbies so we can be sure to meet up and say hello!

I love the #8 clutch! And your notebook is so cute. I can type but there is nothing better than getting a pen and paper out to do some note taking, list making, or doodling. :)

    Have a good time!

Usually you hear about things via others’ blog posts I think! Though, of course, twitter is always the happening place for info sharing! Getting your blogging legs is a process… gradually you feel less and less confused! :)

Looks like you’re prepared!! =) The tote bag is a must–I’ve been to two conferences (not bloggy, but for special needs etc) in the last two months and all I carried was the tote. You’ll find out how helpful it is to just throw all the things (handouts, flyers, etc,)you end up getting. HAVE FUN!! Can’t wait to hear all about it; glad you and Christina get to go together! =)
