Church hunting that is. There is something about church hunting that is both exciting and discouraging at the same time. A part of me is excited at the possibilities for friendship, fellowship and encouragement, but yet I do “hate” the putting yourself out there in a new and strange place part of it.
I know that church members are strongly encouraged to socialize with newbies and make sure to greet each and every visitor that comes through the door, but really at times I dread that part of visiting new churches. You know how you have to do all that “nicey-nice” talking with people?
Perhaps there should be a balance somewhere between ignoring visitors and overwhelming them at every turn. :) Now, I’m not usually the anti-social one. That role usually falls to my dear hubster, but in this case I do feel his anit-social tendencies.
So, tomorrow we plod forward in our hunt and our efforts in squelching our need to be anti-social…
