The BIG Two!

DSC_4595

My little man is just not so little anymore.  :(  Just not sure how this has snuck up on me soooo very quickly.  We did have much fun celebrating his 2nd birthday with the fam at Monkey Joe’s.  We must have lost a bit of our minds, however, because we consciously, of our own free will, walked into MJ’s with our crew on a Saturday afternoon.  It.was.crazy.  Seriously, I could NOT believe the craziness.  There was a huge line just to get in. We went to a new one that recently opened in Gastonia, and it seemed a lot bigger than the two we had been to in Charlotte.  It had less bounce houses and more slides which I think to a kid would be oh-so-much-cooler.  Unfortunately, this was also the Nazi branch of MJ’s.  Maybe it was because it was Saturday, I don’t know. We’ve just never had them be so particular about babies who don’t pay don’t play. Plus, they only allowed ONE parent to assist little ones that can’t go on the slides by themselves.  That meant it really stunk for Chris because the perpetual climbing and sliding was all on him the whole time we were there.

Of course, I have to tell on him a sec and reveal that he was almost as excited as Wade to be going on the slides.  :) Sorry, hon. I had to do it.  Poor Chris was wiped out and roasting by the time we left, though.  Wade did not give him much of a break at ALL between slides.  He would barely give Chris time to jump off the slide before he was racing through the throngs of wild children on to the next one.  :)

We told Wade Friday night all about the BIG slides we were going to go on the next day, and how we were going to bounce and bounce with all the cousins.  He was so funny getting so excited.  He went right to the back door saying, “Slide? Slide?”  He also woke up Saturday morning with the same message, “Slide? Slide?”  It continued all day until at last it was finally TIME for the SLIDES!

We ended the night heading back to Nana and Pop’s for pizza and cake.   He loved his cake with the balls on it and playing the night away with his cousins.  :)

Thanks to everyone for coming and celebrating our TWO exciting years with our CRAZY little man!

That is hilarious. We love Monkey Joes, and I so wish we had one closer here. It is our favorite thing to do when visiting my parents. Oh the fun. It is so hard to believe how fast our kids grow. My baby is about to graduate kindergarten… UGH!!! Nice pics.. Glad you had some great family moments.
