Our Big Night…

CIMG4725

Our Big Ten Celebration started off with a bang with bacon and eggs for breakfast!  My usual morning meal is a pack of Entenmann’s muffins… mmm, mmm, right?  Stop it. I know you are judging me for my lack of “nutritional” breakfast especially in my current state.  I’m sorry, okay? So a bacon and egg sandwich fixed FOR me and handed TO me as I rushed out the door was especially appreciated!

The fun continued when I got home after school to some fabulously beautiful flowers with a card on the table.

I just loved the daisies and roses together and was shocked when he confessed that he had bought the two separately and arranged them together in the vase!  Secret talent he has apparently. :)  I thought it was hilarious that he signed the card from “Your Black Listed Sweetie!”  I’m thinking he enjoyed that title a bit too much!  :)

I packed up the kiddos and wisked them away to meet Nana for the night and headed back home to get ready. Chris had already told me he had made reservations at the restaurant we ate dinner at the NIGHT we got married 10 years earlier!  It’s a hoity-toity type place.  Way over the top fancy, so I wanted to look NICE!  Many outfits later, I decided on one that would work. Seriously there was a pile left of the cast offs…

This stage of pregnancy is just the BEST, since I’m sporting a small pooch but am not obviously preggo yet.   (I am 13 weeks 4 days here.) So to the many strangers around me, I could just be a hoochie who perhaps is in denial about her pooch or doesn’t know how to hide it! But, anyway, I found an outfit and sat down to await Chris’s arrival.  He worked until 7 so we would be getting a late start on our evening… and on a school night too!  We decided to temporarily forget that we aren’t the youngsters we used to be.  :)

The food was simply aaaaa-mazing.  Seriously.  It was soooo good.

My meal was ironically named Chicken Christopher,  which I thought was funny.  They actually gave me THREE chicken breasts.  I asked Chris why they couldn’t just give me ONE and charge me a third of that price! Chris had his standard Filet Mignon, and we also did an adventurous appetizer.  :)  And he says I’m unwilling to try new things.

The restaurant definitely tried to make it an experience  for us, for sure.  When Chris made the reservation, he told them it was our 10th anniversary…  And because of that we had personalized menus…

IMG_0178

Yes.  They say, “Happy 10th Anniversary, Chris and Renee!”  Isn’t that so crazy?  They also came by to take our picture, printed it, and put it in a frame which all the waiters signed.

And, perhaps best of all… we got a complimentary dessert!  :) Yum-o!  It was a slice of $9.50 cheesecake!  :)

Chris was slightly chagrined at my taking pictures of the food, but he had to understand that I… am a blogger.   With that title comes certain exceptions to what would ordinarily be classified as crazy behavior.

I should’ve taken a picture of the “menu presentation” where they roll out samples of the food on a cart for you to see before you order.  They do the same thing for dessert, and let me tell you, it was a heavenly tray of goodness.

I really, really wish I could’ve taken a picture of the older, seemingly Italian foursome that sat just across from us.  Both of the men were tall and large, and the longer I watched them the more an idea grew in my head. I told Chris they were so the stereotypical mob family.  To be honest, my imagination can sometimes get carried away as I observe others around me, and maybe when I don’t have my kiddo’s to distract me.  :)

Chris thinks he disproved my theories though, when the husband handed the wife the check, and she began examining all the copies in detail.  He claims that since we all know that mafia men control the checkbook and mafia women are clueless as long as they can spend all the money flying around… my couple couldn’t be mafia.  :) Maybe he’s right.  Or maybe the mafia is trying to change their image.

I was scared to take their picture in case I was actually right.

We had a great night… reminiscing to 10 years earlier… pretending to be young again.  At least we’re young at heart.
