So much for Planning!

IMG_0758

Well, if you haven’t already figured it out, my "planning" to deliver last Sunday didn’t exactly work.  Okay, I guess it didn’t work at all.  Labor and delivery is kind of an "all or nothing" deal, isn’t it?

My new "plan" is to try not to plan.  Except maybe planning to go on or past my due date, then maybe I can be pleasantly surprised if I go earlier.

I did have contractions {after not having ANY for weeks} most of the afternoon and evening Saturday and really thought that it might be it!  But, alas, they stopped, though I have had some more Sunday and Monday.

We did make one of the final preparations needed for Baby Davis on Saturday, which was a relief to have ready.  We drove out to Chris’s grandparents to pick up the cradle they are loaning us.  We used it for Wade too, and since Wade is still occupying the crib, it is pretty much a necessity for the time being.

Finally we have a visible sign that there is a Baby invasion on the horizon.  :)  Our bedroom doesn’t have much extra room, so finding a good spot for the cradle was definitely a challenge.  With Wade we scooted the bed toward the closet and practically wedged it on the other side between the bed and the window.

I would have to scoot down to the bottom of the bed past the end of the cradle in order to get out.  Nice, right?

This time, I had an epiphany to try it on the closet side.  Soooo…. we scooted the bed and nightstands toward the window…

…and put the cradle on the closet side.  This way I’ve got plenty of room to get out of bed and still have a bit of room to get to my clothes in the closet.  Definitely not ideal, I know, but… definitely doable.  And at this point, I’m happy with just finding "doable."

Homeschooling is going well with both Haylee and I still enjoying it, though it’s kind of bittersweet since I have the looming feeling that our great "system" is going out the window when Davis arrives to rule the roost.  :)  I have resigned myself to trying to be flexible and adjust as we need to.  We did start school the beginning of August so we have enough of a cushion to take about 2-3 weeks off too, so that should ease our transition.  Cuz, surely by 3 weeks old my little #3 will be so good to his momma and will sleep through the night, right??  :)  Ha, if only.

6 days to go!

The last couple of weeks is always the hardest, isn't it? :) I wish you a safe and speedy delivery!

    ((hugs))

I have a private theory, that God makes us as miserable as possible during the last stage of pregnancy, so that a pain-insanity-induced woman actually LOOKS FORWARD to labor.

    Praying for you!
