Sadly a Sparky NO MORE!

I think part of being a mom is the constant nostalgia at milestones our little ones always seem to be passing.

{Or is it just me that is the weepy, sappy one?}

SOMEHOW today is Haylee’s LAST DAY of SECOND GRADE!!!  Our first year in the world of homeschooling is over, and I think it was  a success!

We have had a great week celebrating with a fun outing each day.  Today we are meeting cousins for a picnic lunch and fun at the park.  Hopefully, we won’t melt.

I’m just not sure how can I be old enough to have a THIRD GRADER??  That is just a hop, skip, and a jump away from middle school, and then life as we know it will surely be over.  :)

Another monumental occasion has also occurred that has me all sentimental as well.  Our Haylee who started out with Awana in the itty bitty, cutie pie Cubbies is somehow no longer even a Sparky!

She worked hard to finish up her book before the last week and was THRILLED to earn the Ultimate Award…. The SPARKY AWARD!  This prestigious honor means that she completed all three Sparky books.

See those three patches on the right of her vest below? They stand for each of those three books, and truth be told…. the bottom two were ironed on her vest that day… by CHRIS!

Yeah, so I’m a great mom, huh?

The Awards Ceremony was held before church on a Sunday night, which meant Davis and Wade got to be a part of the fun too.

Yay.

After just a little while of exhausting juggling of two little wiggle worms, Chris made the observation that this is what church would be like without the nursery.

It wouldn’t be good, people.
