Oh, so Tacky!

Well, Tacky Day has come and gone, and I think all survived. The kids were excited, but really weren’t that bad considering.

This morning before school, Chris asked me solemnly, “Are you SURE today is Tacky Day?” :) I think he relished putting fear in my heart, as if there weren’t enough there already. It wasn’t until the trip to school that the thought struck me that I was going to have to walk Haylee into the preschool amidst the other preschool parents NOT involved in our crazy Spirit Week. Thankfully, I think I only saw one, and I was booking it back to my car telling myself, “Just make it to the car. Just make it to the car.” It was definitely good for the ego. :)

I did find it interesting the different people that chose not to participate. It can be a telling fact of one’s exaggerated self importance, maybe. I’m sure not in every case, but it is a bit sad if you think you are too good to look a bit silly. :) Wow, who knew Tacky Day could promote such philosophical thoughts…

Here’s some pics from the day…

So, do I look tacky?

This is my Homeroom class (but not my classroom)….

and my Partner Teacher…

and the other 5th grade class (this IS my classroom)…

This is Abi, one of the teachers on my hall. I think she could’ve won the crazy hair award, if there were one, though you can’t really tell in the pic. She had small ponytails all over her head…

Tomorrow is Decade Day… hopefully more pictures to come… :)

Those are cute. :) What’s up with the 2nd to last pic with the kid standing all by himself?! Not a team player? :)

I know. I didn’t really realize he did that until I got home and looked. In the other two shots I took he has his back completely turned to the camera!

That’s really cute, and so great for the kids. It gives them a sort of “holiday” while in school. Good for you!
