Nifty Free Timeline

The Classical Style of homeschooling is big on using timelines, which I first heard about at a Teacher’s Conference last Spring.
The idea is to create a Comprehensive timeline that each student keeps from K all the way through high school.  Making notes on whatever points in History are being learned about… regardless of whether or not it was actually in History class itself.
Simply Charlotte Mason has a free timeline you can download… Book of Centuries free download, but you can also google printable timelines and find other variations as well.
I thought this was a nifty idea so I thought, why not?
Downloading it was a piece of cake, but the part where I began pulling my hair out was trying to figure out how to print on both sides of the page.
I read a tip that said to tell your printer to print only the odd pages first, then send those pages back through and tell the printer to only print the even pages.  Sounds so easy, right?  That’s what I thought.
It wasn’t long though before I was thoroughly confused and questioning my IQ level.  What kept confusing me was the stinkin’ title/instruction page that was messing up my even/odd printing situation I thought I could handle.  :)
SOMEHOW, I finally managed to get it all printed though the only thing that worked was printing just a few pages at a time and making sure I wasn’t getting off track!
By the time I had FINALLY finished this easy project, this was my stack of discarded-oops-I-must-be-a-moron-because-I-can’t-seem-to-print-these-stinking-papers!
First Day of 2nd Grade (2)
But in the end, I guess all the aggravation was worth it, since I did end up with this final product…
First Day of 2nd Grade (12)
I made up the front insert cover since it’s fun to do stuff like that…
First Day of 2nd Grade (5)
…and since the front page ended up being the backside of the first page of the timeline, I created a cover sheet to start with…
