Menu Monday… deep breath

menumonday_thumb

Hate me if you must, but after the holiday and travelling CRAZINESS, I decided to just pull all my meals straight outta the freezer this week.

Our poor little freezer has been STUFFED to the gills of late, so it will be nice to get some room in there again.

In case you missed my earlier freezer stashing deets, here’s the scoop…

When I am prepping an easy meal, I always try to double it and send one to the freezer for later. It barely takes ANY more time when you already have all the ingredients out to just do everything twice.  Sometimes, I also split dishes and send half to the freezer since I have a family of light eaters, and I HATE throwing away food.

This way, little by little, meal by meal, my freezer stash has grown! Simple and easy!

My method of choice is freezing in a gallon ziploc bag and making sure to freeze it flat if at all possible.  That takes up less room in the packed freezer, AND it allows for FAST thawing….  Just run the frosty bag under hot water for a minute or so, and wala.  :)

Then I can just pour into the crockpot and dinner is started!

I also freeze using the square foil pans  which is super easy too.  I try to pull it out to thaw some in the fridge and then it’s ready to pop in the oven at dinner time.

I love utilizing the freezer stash. It’s SUCH a better alternative than frozen pizza or fast food in this crazy hectic life we’re all a part of these days.   :)

I totally agree on freezing things flat! It makes such a difference. Enjoy your freezer meal week.

Your freezer cooking method sounds so easy! Ill have to remember this since I hate leftovers too. Do you have an extra freezer or a bigger one? We have a teeny tiny one that is full already :/

They were so easy… they only thing is I LOVEd the gravy and my hubby did too, but I did not make the potatos instead I had creamed corn… but becuase the gravy is SO good, Id prob put it with something like mashed potatos or put potatos in the slow cooker with it next time. :) Hope youre doing well!!
