Looking for some ‘Hair-spiration’?

Prepare to be Inspired.  Seriously.

I think I ran across this blog on our way to Disney while I was trying to catch up on the hundreds of posts I had in my reader.  :)  Cassie, from Hi Sugarplum linked up with Kate at The Small Things to  try to give us an example of how she styled her fabulous hair.

I knew that I wanted to check it out more in depth once we got back home.    It is a seriously awesome blog!  She is a stylist who gives tips and tutorials… VIDEO ONES on how to do your hair!  And she’s a NC girl, Whoohoo!

She has so many tutorials you gotta check out!!! I saw this one on doing an elegant “half up” for short hair, and I thought I would give it a try!

Isn’t it so cute??  I don’t usually EVER do anything with my hair except wear it down or in a pony.  I know.  I’m so interesting, aren’t I?  :)  I definitely have a Hair Comfort Zone, and I know how to use it!   :)

Here is my L A M E attempt at following her instructions… don’t laugh!  Mine really doesn’t even look like hers at all.   Less elegant… more just half up!  :)

I don’t know why on earth I am standing like that.  Let’s just say that if you’ve ever tried to take a pic of the back of your hair, you’ll back me up that it is NOT easy.  :)

What do you think?

Somehow it looks like I have blond highlights in the picture, but I really don’t.  I’m all brunette, baby

Here’s the front view…

I also found and USED her tutorial on trimming your bangs.  I’m the world’s most impatient person when it comes to my hair.  If it’s driving me crazy I have been known on many occasions to impulsively CHOP IT OFF myself or even enlist my willing hubby to do it.  :)

I find it amusing that she SPECIFICALLY says DO NOT cut your bangs straight across which is, of course, what I usually DO!

I actually ended up cutting them more and shorter the next day too…

If you need some hair inspiration, you should go check out all the rad stuff she’s got going on over there.  :)

What’s YOUR Hair Comfort Zone?  We’ve all got ‘em, don’t we??  :)

ok…. her hair is adorable and as I was reading, I was skeptical because of my curls (you know how it is) but it looks GREAT on yours! I might have to try this… I don't really have a "comfort" zone for my hair… just got a pink extension… but it's hard to think of something new when it's as curly as it is… doesn't straighten well, etc… i will enjoy checking out her blog… Thanks for sharing!

Yeah, her hair is awesome!! So jealous! My hair…oy. I just straigten it. Sometimes I scrunch or curl it because it naturally has those big beachy waves. But I really need some hair inspiration, as well as a haircut! Thanks for posting this!

I went to her blog after a couple videos. I *knew* she didn't have kids if she had time and quiet to make those videos!!! : ) I might have to try how she styles her bangs. But I don't think I can bring myself to put that much product in my hair!

I like your hair like that. The details don't show up as well because your hair is darker, so I am sure it looks even better in person.

My comfort zone centers around the less time and less product the better. Sometimes I use a light oil to help with frizz or hair spray but that it it. The fanciest thing I do with my hair is twist the front sides up with or without a bun. 40's inspired and super easy. You can kind of see it on one side in this picture on my blog: http://thedistractedblogger.wordpress.com/2011/08/18/ode-to-starch-part-two/
