Our Surprise Baby #3 is AMAZINGLY already ONE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How did this happen so quickly?
It was just yesterday that I was staring at TWO lines on a stick with my jaw on the floor.
And wasn’t it just a second ago that we first met our little Davis Man and started this crazy adventure of life with THREE kids?
I have SO LOVED being able to stay home this past year with our little munchkin watching him grow up right before our eyes.
After 3 years of infertility, our Surprise Baby Davis is truly our Miracle. :)
Our Big ONE year old has been learning new things non-stop! He has been saying the mamamama and dadadadada for a while, but not in a consistent way where he really is calling us that for sure.
Sometimes he will really seem to be calling me as he’s rattling off Mamamamama as he comes teetering in from another room after me, and yesterday he really sounded like he was saying Da-Da looking at a picture of Chris on the computer! :)
In spite of that, I think his definite OFFICIAL first word has to be “No, no” though it sounds more like “Nah, nah!” He has it down pat complete with his index finger wagging and all looking something like this… :)
He loves to pick up his food and deliberately drop it off the high chair. The child will pick up the food all the while staring at me, hold the food over the edge and drop it.
He often gives himself away when we hear the “No, no” from him and see that finger wagging, and we know he is into SOMETHING! :)
Sometimes though he’ll just give an obvious, “Do you see what I’m doing?” look or he will give you that look and bring the offending object over to you with his hand outstretched, like, “Here! I was just giving this to you!”
His walking has almost turned into running at times, and he is, of course, INTO EVERYTHING! He has started opening his dresser drawers and pulling out the clothes! He will come trotting in the living room trying to put a shirt on his head! He hasn’t managed that yet, but I was shocked the other day to see that he had stripped in the crib when he was supposed to be napping. His shirt was OFF and tossed outa the crib!
He is up to six teeth now… four on top and two on bottom!
His other new-ish “tricks” are peekaboo {covering one eye with one hand}, saying “bah” for “ball,” and he is just starting to blow kisses! He humors me too when I ask him where his bottle is, and he will run over and find it. :)
He has definitely given us a VERY interesting year!
A year passed in the BLINK of an eye…
It is SO HARD to believe it’s actually been a YEAR with him brightening our days!
Awww, so cute! Thanks for sharing! I always thought it was hilarious when they bring you the forbidden object as soon as they notice you are near. HA! Levi, our third, is just so different than our other two, so quirky and definitely has his own personality. Wondering what this little gal coming in November is gonna be like!
He's SO adorable!! I wish I had done the monthly photos like that – those are awesome!! i do, however, have that very same pillow on my couch – the red one. That doesn't help with my lack of monthly photos, though.
