Davis-Man…

four months collage

My sweet little wee one is officially out of the “fourth trimester.” You know… the fourth trimester, where they are teeny tiny newborns and don’t do much besides lie there and look adorable.

Now, our little Davis a great BIG 4 months old! I still feel like the mother of a newborn, however.  It seems like I should have a better handle on things by now… Like going out and about should be a breeze by now.

Well. It’s not.

:)

4 mos old

His sleeping patterns are pretty erratic… sometimes sleeping all night and sometimes blessing us with his cries around 2 or 3 am! You would think we’ve never had kids before, but we seem to constantly be trying something new in his evening routine to achieve better results.  :) I’ve said before… most of the time, it’s less about what the parents do and more about the baby’s particular bent for sleeping well or not.  We can just hope and pray he’ll {and we’ll} get better about it.  :)

He started rolling over back to belly at about 3.5 months which was very exciting.  He has only rolled toward the right so far, and will usually get upset shortly after the roll since he isn’t too fond of tummy time… and he can’t roll himself back.  :)

This became quite the game for Wade and Haylee the other day.  Haylee was in the kitchen doing schoolwork while Wade was monitoring the roll over status of Davis in the living room.

After the much desired rolling over would occur, Wade would begin proclaiming loudly, “He rolled ovah! He rolled ovah!” All while running in the the kitchen to fetch Haylee to remedy the situation.  Haylee and Wade would then run back to the living room, and Haylee would roll stranded Davis over to his back… only to repeat the process again and again.  :)

Life is definitely not dull with 3 kids to entertain you.

A while back he started doing this pretty funny intense studying  of his hands like “Oh wow, where did these things come from!”

Lately he has started the adorable sucking of a finger or two whenever he can get them stuffed in there!

My decision to use the comparison stuffed animal for his growth pics may not have been too smart.  I had such a hard time getting him to look at me this time, because he was so taken with the silly dog!

This was one of his first times in the saucer… he loves standing up!   IMG_1621

We just brought out the box of 3-6 month clothes too and packed away most of the 0-3 month stuff. The one he’s wearing below is 6 months…

It’s a different feeling packing away clothes this time knowing that this little one is definitely our last. On the one hand it’s easier since we know we can go ahead and get rid of everything and free up some attic space {hallelujah!} but it is also a little bit sad to know that you are closing the baby chapter for good.

There is nothing quite like wee baby smiles…

I just can’t stand how cute the sweater vest is.  Seriously.

I'm with you on the sweater vest! I just went "Awwww!" as I scrolled down the pic to see it! ;) Toooo cute! Can't wait till we're all in the same state again and I can actually SEE my nieces and nephews more often!
