Baby Davis is now 3 weeks old! He has put his momma through the ringer worrying if he was okay since he was gaining weight veeeery slowly.

Here’s the stats again…

7 lbs 15 oz at birth
7 lbs 7 oz day 2
7 lbs 2 oz at one week
and only 7 lbs 4 oz at 2 weeks…

After his 2 week check up, we tried giving him a few bottles that I had pumped… just an ounce… after he had nursed. 

More times than not, he spewed it up… like a lot!  That’s with stopping to burp! It was just baffling to me.  If nursing him wasn’t enough, than why on earth would he be spitting up all the milk from the bottle??  You can’t be starving and over-full at the same time!  Or at least I didn’t think you could.

I’ve been waking him up to eat every 3 hours during the day and every 4 hours at night… It really seems blatantly WRONG to actually set your alarm for 2:30 am EVERY NIGHT!  Oy!

And now… amazingly… at his 3 week weight check, he weighed in at a whopping 8 lbs!  I could not believe it when she said 8 lbs! It is such a huge weight {no pun intended, har har} off my shoulders.  It is hard when you are exclusively nursing since you just don’t really know how much they are getting.  You can only go on what the scale says, along with wet/dirty diapers.  We knew the diapers were good, and he seemed to really be content after feedings and didn’t cry excessively. 

I am so happy that we can relax a bit now and have the assurance that he is indeed OKAY!!!

Now I can just enjoy my little cutie!
