A WonderFALL Time of Year…

You would think a former teacher and bulletin board caption maker would have heard every Play on Words ever made for FALL.  But, no.

In the window of Pier One the other day, I saw a new-to-me one… WONDERFALL!!

So, I bring you… A WonderFALL Time of Year!!!  {And yes, when I saw the sign in the window, I immediately thought of Fall bulletin board captions.  AND I thought how I needed to make sure I told mom.  Which I haven’t.  Until now.  Sorry mom.}

I really do LOVE Fall.  The cool breezes and breaking out of the sweaters just mean GOOD things are ON THE WAY!

I think last year was our FIRST trip to an authentic Pumpkin Patch, and man have we been missing out!  I love the combo of FAMILY fun and CHEAP entertainment, ha ha!!

Though this year both of our Fall-ish events were sans Daddy.  :(  Boo.

We had a FUN homeschool outing to a “nearby” farm with lots of outdoor fun complete with the most authentic wagon ride I’ve ever been on.  It was straight out of Little House on the Prairie, baby!!

See it behind Haylee’s handful of straw she’s about to throw up in the air ALL OVER ME and DAVIS?!

There are always an OBSCENE amount of the most adorable photo ops EVERYWHERE you look, so be very thankful I learned how to come up with a collage!  :)

A local TV station was out filming while we were there for some reason, and some of us managed to make it on the News that night!

I think this was my first time on TV, which somehow partly made up for the time when I was a kid and our neighborhood was evacuated to a nearby church because of a gas leak.  I stayed behind at the church to help with the little kiddos, while the rest of the family’s walk back home made it on the news!!   And, no, of course, my angelic older brother DIDN’T rub it in for EONS.

{I think I might still be bitter.}  :)

Later in the month we went to our FIRST authentic Corn Maze!!  Another Homeschooling outing!  And who says we never get out!  :)

One thing Pumpkin Patches and Corn Mazes apparently have in common is their ultimate Red Neck way of taking farm equipment and somehow making it into a money making toy or ride.  :)

See the Cow Train/ Barrel attached to wheels?  It’s part of a long line pulled by a four wheeler.  REEEEEAL classy.   :)

I was actually nervous about attempting the Corn Maze since I had heard it could take 45 minutes to an HOUR to get through.  An hour trapped in a Corn Maze pushing a stroller with a bunch of tired, whiny kids is SO not on my list of fun.

As we entered the maze, the chipper little worker informed us we had TWO choices… Maze A which was ONE acre or Maze B which was SEVEN acres!  Uh, lemmethink….

We obviously chose the easy one since we like to at least attempt to preserve our sanity, and it only took us about 30 minutes.  The kids kept “harvesting” ears of corn off the stalks as we made our journey, as if they were finding hidden treasure.  I guess that means we all have city kids, right?  :)

Have you done the Pumpkin Patch??  Are they this Redneck only in North Carolina??  Ha ha!

All of that looks like so much fun!! Oddly enough, we did more fall stuff last year when I was pregnant than we have done this year. I seem to be lacking energy and motivation…
