Tip of the Century!

soap

So I’m about to BLOW your bargain loving mind. Seriously, p r e p a r e yourself.  In researching some all natural baby care products for Davis after a crazy case of cradle cap, I came across a blog article that I just have to share.  I couldn’t believe it could be true.  Are you ready??

Okay, so do you love you some awesome foaming hand soap??  What could be better, right? 1) It’s better for little ones since they don’t always wash their hands long enough, and to really get the "good stuff" out of the soap you really gotta lather it up…. and 2) Foam is just rad, and we heart it.

What we don’t heart is the price tag on those refills, and that’s if you can manage to even find them.

Well, what I found on that little ole obscure blog article is directions to make your own foaming soap refills!  {Oooh, sorry.  Were you expecting something more important that that??  It obviously doesn’t take much to thrill me!}

You will need…

  • Empty bottle with the foaming soap pump thingee
  • Gel soap
  • Water

Put about 1 inch of the gel soap into your empty bottle.  It’s got to be gel, people.  No creamy stuff.  Then fill up the rest of the bottle with WATER. Yes, I said WATER.  Wala!  You are done and have just saved yourself a FORTUNE since you are just using 1 inch of soap.

Am I the only one that just finds it simply shocking that we were paying MUCH MORE for the special foaming soap refills thinking they contained something unique, when in reality we were just buying a bag of water that had a bit of soap in it.  Wow.  If you don’t believe me, check the first ingredient listed on you foam soap.  Yep. It’s water.

So, go on.  Get out there and spread the word.  We can refill our own soap bottles with FREE foam!  :)

Happy Sudsing!
