T-T-T-Triples!

Believe it or not, folks. This old girl dragged herself out of bed in the dark but amazingly quiet and chilly morning to make it to Harris Teeter Triple Sale.

I got there way before they opened at 6am hoping they would open the doors early. I was the second car in the parking lot, and was the first customer in the door! It was so nice shopping triples with STOCKED shelves!

I got all this stuff (above) for FREE!! *Happy Coupon Triple Dance*

This is all my stuff… free and otherwise…

I managed to shop two different stores and made it back home by 7:30 am for Chris to head off to work. It was so nice being able to shop kid-free! There is nothing like shopping in peace and quiet!

I wasn’t able to make it out of the first store without an issue, sadly. I am almost posititive this was the same cashier that I had issues with the BOGO items and coupons a while back. I am convinced this cashier was LOOKING for a problem with my coupons. She started off saying that the Windex (I had two of them) was BOGO and I could only use one coupon. I told her that I would just do two transactions then. She said I couldn’t do that. I told her that I was told I could last time. She said that you could only do 20 coupons per customer per day. I said that what she was ringing up was 19 and this was 1.

She ended up saying that she would let me do two transactions, but I really wasn’t supposed to. Of course, then my Windex had an overage of -22 cents which she said she would price adjust. After calling a mgr over to price adjust somehow they only got it to -1 cent. At that point, the mgr suggested I get a pack of gum. I said that I would rather have gotten the pack of gum with the 22 cent overage! She wouldn’t budge on the silly penny, and I did not want to go spend 49 cents on a pack of gum!

Finally, I just told to her void it off thinking that I would get it on another trip, but when the mgr heard, he told her to adjust the total to zero so I could have it. As he was making the adjustment, the cashier was going on in her coupon policy lecture that she thought I needed to hear.

I was sooooo irritated upon arriving at the other store and seeing the Windex on sale for 2/$4 not BOGO. I think the cashier was just so eager to find a problem with my order that she just “guessed” maybe that the Windex was BOGO when it really wasn’t! So retarded! Why does she even care?

I know that it is trivial, but I called HT customer service and complained about what she did. The man said that he would be calling the store mgr and I would be getting a call back. What’s crazy is that he confirmed what the cashier said about you’re not allowed to do two transactions. He actually said something like…Only one transaction per customer per day.

Are they serious? They are saying that people are only allowed to come shop at their store once a day?? That’s ridiculous. But that’s just my opinion… for whatever that’s worth!

All in all it was a profitable morning….

You go, girl! Awesome deals! Sorry for the snarky checkout lady — she’s just jealous of your fabulous savings.

Trying not to be “green” myself,… lolol.

    Shopping kid-free IS such a treat! ;)

Haha! If only you saw all the work prepping this week for the big event… (not to mention the weekly upkeep) You might not be “green” then! :) It’s a pain in the neck to keep up with most of the time, but times like these make it worth it!

You GO Renee! I wouldn’t have been brave enough to fight for all those deals. And what in the WORLD – you can only shop once per day?? That is messed up! I would just die if, say Walmart, did that! I have been there 3 times in one day! Craziness! Glad you got some good deals, and a pile of free stuff!

    Awesome girl!

I think the whole thing with the cashiers making a fuss over coupons is that they are really just jealous that *they* didn't think to take the time to clip & collect coupons so that *they* could get what you get!

The best cashiers for the coupon situations, I think, are older ladies who look like they might have grown children and/or grandkids… I've even had *them* take EXPIRED coupons for me, with that "bless your heart" look in their eyes!!!

One of my stores is very picky but even then it depends on the cashier. And if you go back at night, there will be different cashiers and a different manager! :) That’s how I shop more than once in a day. I also have two different stores so that helps.

Anyhoo, I haven’t added up my loot yet; I’ll post about it when I do.

    Great shopping girl!!!
I’m like Sheri, I haven’t got any coupons in a while. I’ll need to be ready for the next time around.
Let us know when the next triples come around.
