Snow! Seriously!

Well, the weatherman was actually right this time, AND… it actually stuck this time! It started snowing last night around 7:30 or 8:00 pm. I called Haylee to come look, and she got so excited and ran to get her shoes on so she could go out. She finally hurries back with her FLIP-FLOPS on– no jacket in sight. I sent her back with the instruction that flip flops were not acceptable.

She then came back with her crocs… still no jacket.

After finally donning warm attire she enjoyed the falling flakes for a few minutes…

We were happy to see that the snow was all still there this morning… all five inches! The news station said that we haven’t had accumulation like that since February of ’04, which coincindentally, is when Haylee was a baby. Apparently, all Charlotte needs in order to have snow is for us to pop out a baby. :)

We all needed to get bundled up before we could head outside for some snow fun. I happened to remember that Haylee actually has snow boots… thanks to Grandma and her yard sale deals. I went up in the attic to scrounge up the rest of our winter gear. Not an easy feat considering the rare occasions we use them for.

Wade seemed less than impressed, though he did sit in the snow for several minutes. I’m not sure he understood what in the world was going on. We walked down to our neighbor’s house and decided to be juvenile and peg their bedroom window. I wasn’t actually involved. I just watched.

We walked back home and our neighbors (aka Sam and Heather in case that wasn’t already deduced) joined us to play and make a magnificent snow-creature. Haylee volunteered her pink scarf, but with no hair we’re not quite sure what gender he/she is.

We had a good time playing, but I would not like to have to deal with it on a regular basis. What a mess… It is pretty to look at though…

Hurray for a snow day! Here’s more pics of our grand adventure…

Looks like you had a fun time!! =) We got about 5 inches ourselves but didn’t get to play in it this time since it was way too windy for the kids to be outside in it! Glad you got to enjoy your snow!
