Room Switcheroo

We are constantly brainstorming, or so it seems, to ensure we are using our space to its maximum capacity.

This has been the set up in the kids’ room for a year or more, I think.  We found this loft bed at Ikea that was tall enough for the crib to fit right underneath! Ingenious, I say, since it freed up valuable floor space! {It, of course, made a bigger difference when the crib was still functioning as a crib with the side still attached.  You had to have room to stand under there and swing Wade out over the side.}

We decided to try something new and did a bit of a switcheroo last week.

What do you think?

bunks

We upgraded Wade’s bed and turned the whole shebang against the opposite wall.  It’s amazing how just rotating things can make the room feel bigger!

When we bought the loft bed back in the day, we went ahead and purchased the frame to go underneath as well, and we already had the extra twin mattress in storage too.

The kids were BEYOND elated with the change.  They seriously could hardly contain their excitement.  Those grey bars  make great launching pads onto the bed, in their estimation. :)

I already had the bedding as well.  Just had to grab it out of storage.

Wade’s former bed transformed back into a crib and with some new bedding {you guessed it… in storage} moved into our bedroom.

Um, yeah.  I know.  It’s a bit tight.

But the Davis-Man seems to like it okay…
