More Birthday Fun

Today at 8:31 am our little one turned 4! Our baby girl is somehow no longer a baby. We tried to do a few things special for her today even though we already had the big hooplah on Saturday. Haylee and I went to the library this morning for their story time. We’ve gone the last several Wednesdays, and she really seems to enjoy it. It is a good place to meet other moms, I’m sure, but to me, it seems to be a bit like the high school world where the clique of certain moms is not too willing to let newbies in. :) It could all be in my mind, but nonetheless, I’m not meeting too many new friends there. There are a few moms that do seem genuinely nice. Really, it’s probably just a few that are a bit snobby… most are friendly.
This afternoon, we took Haylee to good, old clog your arteries, McDee’s for her favorite Chicken Nuggets and a milkshake. She had a blast playing on the play place, or “play-play” as she calls it.
After her nap, she got to try on her new two piece swim-suit and play in the sprinklers… We even have a few gifts we saved for her to open tonight. Can you tell birthdays are a big deal to me? :)
Here’s some pics of the sprinkler fun…

She is just way too cute for her own good! Love the swimsuit! :)

She is sooo adorable! That Chris had better get a shotgun when she reaches highschool, or the boys will be around like flies!

You know, I tried the library thing, too, and it’s a lot of fun for the kids, but I found it wasn’t a great way to meet other moms. I think the library “hush-hush” has something to do with it. For me, the easiest way to meet other moms who want to make friends with other moms is through MOPS. You should check it out!
