Misquoted.

Apparently there has been a MLK,jr quote flying freely in light of  Sunday’s take down of Bin Laden that isn’t quite accurate.
“I mourn the loss of thousands of precious lives, but I will not rejoice in the death of one, not even an enemy.” – Martin Luther King, Jr
I guess he did promote the meaning behind that, but somehow things get quoted and re-quoted added and revised.

This is not a new occurrence, since if you want a quote to really pack a punch, attributing it to some famous person will do the trick.  Here is a list of famous misquotes with some SHOCKING ones.
“Elementary, my dear Watson” – Conan Doyle (Sherlock Holmes)
{What??  How could that not be authentic??!!} Per this site, it wasn’t something in any of the books at all.
And this one
“I have never killed any one, but I have read some obituary notices with great satisfaction.” –Mark Twain
Apparently Mark Twain is so commonly misquoted, you might as well NOT believe something came from him.  :)
When I read an article about the MLK,jr misquote, I thought a few of the comments with humorous misquotes were worth sharing.
“People believe anything they read on the internet if it fits their preconceived notions.”    –Thomas Jefferson.
“This is not what I invented the Internet for.”  -Al Gore
With the easily accessed information and “data” on the internet it IS true that you can find an internet article to back up anything you want to.

I am curious to find out what blog system you’re using? I’m having some
minor security problems with my latest blog and I’d like to find something more secure.

    Do you have any suggestions?
