Baked Ziti… courtesy of Maggiano’s meal deal from our date night! Woot!

Week Two of my restart in Coupons was quite challenging.  Somehow the clipping part seemed to drag on endlessly as I would find something else I needed to clip… over and over!  I also shopped FOUR stores this week and came close to doubling our projected $40 budget.

That’s the bad news.  The good news is that a good portion of that was great stock up opportunities, which is going to result in a lower amount I’ll be spending on “staples” in the weeks to come.

Plus… we are still way under what we were spending regularly at Walmart.

This week I am enjoying a Meal Prep Break due to some pretty sweet leftovers from our weekend gallivanting!

We took advantage of a fabulous deal at Maggiano’s.  You won’t believe it.  For $39 you get an appetizer and dessert to share, two entrees, as well as two entrees to take home!

And this is the kind of place where the entrees are seriously ENORMOUS!

When we walked in, there was a large sign saying that it was Murder Mystery Night, though we must have been too early for the party. We did keep our eyes open for possible spectacles around us but left without any crime committed.   :)

We’ve thought about doing those Murder Mystery Dinner Theater things, but I really think we are not extroverted enough for such an activity.

Our Cruise adventures proved that theory.  We just don’t enjoy forced dinner conversation with random people. :)

I picked the Baked Ziti to take home and after my delirious raving, Chris picked the lasagna for my benefit.  It was simply amazing!!!

Just in case you were wondering, the lasagna is going in the freezer for later!!

:)

A bunch of dinners in Zilcho Minutes.

Woohoo!

Woo Hoo for you! I so need to do this meal planning thing. Sundays are just not the best day for me. Our schedule is so crazy with Dan’s work right now. I gotta figure this out soon. Glad you guys had a night out, and glad the food was so great!

Congrats on the savings. I really need to learn how to use coupons the right way to start saving money. Your menu looks delicious.

wow, that is a great deal at Maggiano’s – we don’t have one around here :)

David and I have always wanted to do one of those murder mystery things too – but not sure if they would be too racy or out of our taste?? and then we would be stuck :(

Did you freeze your sesame chicken in advance or just cook it from the beginning since it required so little in terms of prep?
