Happy Easter!

I have no Menu Monday for you today because we are leaving today for our first visit to Nashville, Tennessee! We are excited to check out a new, famous city!

We plan to try to see the Grand Ole Opry, the Ryman Theater, the Bluebird Cafe, and probably some outlet shopping too.  :) Any other tips for Nashville?

We had a great day yesterday celebrating Easter!

It’s so fun watching our crazy kids opening their Easter treats and seeing them all cutesy-fied in their finery.

We are so thankful for a day to remember what Christ did for us on the cross! Not long ago, we were THRILLED when our wild Wade prayed and asked Jesus in his heart!

He started asking questions while he was staying with Nana and Pop, and Nana said she saw the light bulb go off on his face when she told him that Jesus had died on the cross for his sins so he could go to Heaven.

After he prayed, we asked him if this means he would NEVER sin again and he said… “Yes”!

We explained that no, he would still sin and that even mommy and daddy still make bad choices and sin.

I asked him, “What do you think will happen when you sin?”

He waved over his heart and said sadly, “He goes out.”

We said, “NO! He will never go out of your heart!! When you do sin, you just have to pray and ask God to forgive you.”

He lay his head down in my lap for a few seconds and then lifted up his head and said softly,

“I’m so thankful for that.”

Wow.

Our hearts were full and we pray he will grow up to love and serve Jesus!

It was funny to see how his literal, five year old mind was trying to grasp concepts and phrases like “He’s in your heart.”

At one point, he leaned in close and said in his spy voice,

“Is He in my heart right now?”

And then later in the same spy voice,

“Is He sitting down right now?”

{Because I’m at a loss for words and not answering then he says,}

“Or is He standing up?”

Happy Easter and Happy Spring Break to those of you who are enjoying a week off like me!
