Fashion Friday Time!

fashion friday button updated

Are you ready for some f-f-f-f-fashion?

Please be proud of me, k?

I only have ONE self shot to show you today!  Okay, well maybe 1.5.

All the others I took with the tripod, or Chris took for me.

It’s amazing how much better you can see the outfit that way.  But… it’s also ONE MORE step in the process, so no promises on the future. SO much easier to just snap the pic in the mirror, ah!

Top:  Ocean Pacific, Jeans: Express Stella Flair, Shoes: Target

The weather here has been so cah-razy lately.  Warm, then cold, then scorching!  I pulled out this comfy OP top during a sudden cold snap.  :)

And now we’re back to the heat. This was literally the day after the cold snap.

Top: Gap, Cardigan: NY&Co via GW, Jeans: Express, Shoes: Aerosoles via GW

This was my birthday outfit! Definitely was a cool day as you can tell.  We had a low key day/night at home, but I decided my big day was worthy of a cute outfit.  :) Aren’t those wedges fab too?  They are so cute, AND they are even semi-comfy since they are the Aerosoles brand.

Top:  Old Navy, Skirt: Banana Republic via  GW, Shoes: Old Navy

This was a fun outfit I wore for Chris’s grandfather’s 80th birthday bash.  This skirt is made of a jersey type t-shirt material, and oh my, is it comfy!  I love that it is full, but it is also flattering.  Full skirts tend to make you look 20 lbs. heavier it seems to me, but this one doesn’t.  :)

I also wore another variation of this outfit earlier in the month too with a different top… and boots because of the chilliness, believe it or not!

DSC_0002 2

I told you… crazy weather.

Top:  Walmart, Capris: NY&Co thrifted, Flip Flops: UNC Tarheels!

What do you think about the bright colored pants/capris??  Yay or nay?

I think they are a fun wardrobe addition, though normally it’s much easier to work in your color with accessories as opposed to staple items.

Dress:  Body Central via GW, Cardigan: Thrifted, Shoes: Nine West via GW

I wore this to a Ladies Banquet with some family.  I actually got this dress at GW a few years ago after I had lost weight the first time and ended up preggo with Davis.  :)  I wore it out for our 10th anniversary dinner about 10 or so weeks preggo.

From this angle, you can’t really tell there was a baby bump, but I promise, it was there.  Here’s a blurry awful shot, but you can see the bump a bit better.  :)

IMG_0156

I actually don’t think that I have worn that dress since soon after that date.  :)

And as I was working on this post, I realized that basically this whole outfit was thrifted down to the shoes! Woot!

Tank: Gap, Shorts: via Ross, Flip Flops: Gap

It’s hard to tell in the pic but the collar and sleeves of this tank are edged in a pretty lace dressing up this plain tee.  I’ve had this tank top FOREVER and am happy that with my weight loss I can actually wear it solo!

And as an added bonus this time… here is my Wild Wade’s interpretation of Fashion Friday posing.

DSC_0073   DSC_0076

Simply Marvelous, no?  This boy definitely keeps us on our toes and keeps us laughing.

What about you?  Are you trying any thrifting with your Fashion?

I was so excited to visit a Thrift Store near my house and discover that all their clothes are sorted and labeled by size just like the one I visited on vacation!!!  Woo to the Hoo big time!

I had already been there forever finding TONS in the housewares and books etc, so I really didn’t have time to scour through the clothes, but in a just a few minutes, I was able to find a few pairs of dress pants to try on.  Of course, getting me and the full size {PACKED} Walmart-stolen buggy in the teeny dressing room was another story.

But… I fit, and two of the dress pants fit too! I’m sure you will be seeing them in the next Fashion Friday installment!  :)

Since I had lost more weight, my dress pants weren’t fitting very well, and I had hoped to scope out a few with some gift cards and even ebay.  How much better to score some awesome ones right down the road for only $3 each?!

Thrifting for the win… again!

    Hi, Renee,

I came over from Serenity Now. I love your outfits – especially the dress!

You are so cute Renee! We have a goodwill that organizes by size, one that doesn’t and then one that organizes everything by color and type. I love the one that does everything by my size when I’m not looking for anything specific, but the other one that organizes by color and type makes it really easy if I am looking for something specific.

Oh yeah, and I think the pink capris are cute!

    UHdorable! As always! ;-)

You really need to email the name/location of that thrift store… You’re not THAT far away & I would totally drive that distance for sorting by size! LOL
