Cruising

We are so excited to be heading to the Bahamas tomorrow!  This is our very first cruise and there is alot of unknowns so I am hoping that we actually make it on the boat safely each time we’re supposed to.  :)

I was online Sunday trying to fill out our “Funpass” and was shocked to read that I was supposed to send Carnival a letter from my doctor saying I was fit to travel 7 days BEFORE your departure! It also said that failure to do so could result in a cancellation of your reservation.  Whaaat??  I had read their pregnancy policy several weeks ago and it said NOTHING about “prior to departure.”

It all turned out okay, since I called and they said I could just bring it with me.  Apparently they say “7 days” just in case something is wrong with your paperwork, then you have some time to get it fixed.  Otherwise, if you’re walking up the pier with the wrong paperwork, then you’re pretty much out of luck. I read online that some people who are still early in their pregnancy don’t even get asked for the form. So maybe I’ll be wearing a baggy shirt and hoping to go unnoticed.

We are really excited and have heard lots of good things about the FOOD, FOOD, and MORE FOOD as well as tons of other fun stuff to do on the ship.  It will be fun to see the famous Bahamas and travel outside the States with our brand new passports! Not to mention that right now the temp in the Bahamas is 81 degrees!  Whoohoo! Too bad I didn’t get to tan as I had planned to prior to my pregnancy shock.

Here’s our itinerary…

Sat, Apr 3 Jacksonville, Fl Docked Depart 4:00 PM
Sun, Apr 4 Fun Day At Sea
Mon, Apr 5 Half Moon Cay, Bahamas Tender Arrive 8:00 AM Depart 6:00 PM
Tue, Apr 6 Nassau, Bahamas Docked Arrive 7:00 AM Depart 10:00 PM
Wed, Apr 7 Fun Day At Sea
Thu, Apr 8 Jacksonville, Fl Docked Arrive 8:00 AM

I am just hoping we don’t end up on 20-20.

Hope you have a fabulous time!

*Pack sunscreen, and use it often and repeat often
*Eat lots and lots; there's always time for feeling guilty later
*Enjoy the magic fairy that cleans your cabin while you're out (and fantasize about kidnapping said fairy)
